    BRIEF ITINEARY:

    DETAILED ITINEARY:

    Day 1: Hanoi arrival. Airport Pick Up.
    Upon arrival Hanoi, welcomed by the Tour Guide and Car Driver of Indochina Leisure at the airport then you will be transferred to the hotel in city centre. Check in and stay overnight in Hanoi.

    Day 2: Hanoi city tour. Night train to Sapa. (B, L)
    Hanoi, a city of lakes, shaded boulevards and public parks, is the capital of Vietnam. It is a very attractive city with French-style architecture. You have a full day of sightseeing ahead, including a visit to One Pillar Pagoda, which was built by Ly Thai Tong and the Temple of Literature, founded by Emperor Ly Thanh Tong. Stop in the heart of Hanoi at Hoan Kiem Lake, which contains an islet with a tiny Tortoise Pagoda. After lunch at a local restaurant, visit Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum, the Opera House and St. Joseph Cathedral. Conclude with a visit to Bao Tang Lich, once the museum of l Ecole Francaise d Extreme Orient, which includes artifacts from Vietnam s turbulent history. Water Puppet Show, Cyclo visiting Old Quarter. Afterwards you are free until 8.00pm and be transferred to Hanoi Railway Station, 20 Le Duan Street for the night train to Sapa. Overnight on the train.

    Day 3: Sapa – Lao chai – Ta van Village (B, L)
    The train arrives at the Lao Cai train station at approximately 06:00. There will be a vehicle and tour guide waiting to transfer us to Sapa. The drive to Sapa is only 33 km but it takes around 1.5 hours to make our way up the mountains. Arrive Sapa and  enjoy  breakfast at the hotel ( There will be surcharge if require early check in ). We then do a tour to the hill tribe villages of Cat Cat, and Sansaho village home to the H mong  hill tribes minority peoples. As we walk to the villages nestled in the valley below Sapa, we will meet some of the local minority people on their way to and from Sapa. Here we have the opportunity to share cultural experiences with the families that live in the area. Overnight at hotel in Sapa.

    Day 4: Sa pa – Bac Ha Sunday Market. Night train to Hanoi (B, L)
    Breakfast at hotel, pick up and transfer to Bacha Market, Arrive after 2 hours. Free time for visiting one of the most colorful market in the world, Lunch. Visit one village and an old building called The H mong king s house. Breakfast and the beginning of the day on which you visit a big market filled with many different hill-tribe peoples. This is the most colorful market in North Vietnam. At the market, you have chance to enjoy Bac Ha people s simple but unique kinds of food with special wines made from rice, cassavas, corn and different sorts of fruits such as plumps, apples, peaches... talking to the minorities through the guide s interpretation. Leave the market for the H mong King s house (King Hoang A Tuong) built by the French colonists and the Chinese in 1920. Return the town for lunch. In the afternoon, spend time visiting another village (Ban Pho village) Say good bye to Bac Ha and get back to Laocai for  night train back Hanoi. Overnight on train.

    Day 5: Hanoi – Halong Bay Overnight Cruise. (B, L, D)
    This morning, you arrival Hanoi Railway Station about 5am, walk 3 minutes to the hotel we booked for you aside the station for short rest & breakfast until 8.30am. Our driver & tour guide will come to pick you up for Halong Bay Trip. Drive from Hanoi to Halong Bay (the World Natural Heritage site) via the Red River Delta. After 3.5 hours driving, arrival at Halong Pier, you check out the junk cruise while lunch is served. You will cruise passing through the magical bay, where thousands of sculpted limestone islands rise from the waves like dragons teeth. After lunch, you take a short trek to a nearby summit for a panoramic view of the bay, swimming on a quiet beach or sunbathing on the sundeck. In the late afternoon, you visit an interesting fishing village with an opportunity to interact with fishermen who have been living in the bay for almost three generations. At sunset, you do kayaking or simply take a bamboo row boat to discover a water tunnel with many coral reefs in a scenic lagoon. Back on board, enjoy watching the peaceful sunset and later unwind at a restaurant. You will stay overnight onboard.

    Day 6: Halong Bay – Hanoi. Flight Hanoi – Da nang – Hoian (B)
    This early morning, after waken up by the sounds of waves and birds welcoming the new day, you will have an opportunity to view the sunrise over the bay. After breakfast, visit a beautiful limestone grotto. You will have one more time take a walk back to the boat for a final glimpse of Halong Bay while cruising back to the dock. Check out the junk and get on car to departure to Hanoi Airport for the flight to Danang. Overnight at the hotel in Hoian.

    Day 7: Hoian Ancient Town. (B)
    9.00am you are picked up at your hotel in Hoian to start the light trip around the ancient town.
    From the 16th to 18th centuries, Hoi An was a thriving international commercial port for Chinese, Dutch, French, Japanese, Portuguese and Arab traders. These people came primarily to trade in the high grade silk, which is still produced in the area, as well as ceramics. Today, Hoi An is a quaint riverside town, popular with tourists for its eclectic architecture, tailors shops, and numerous cafes. Some of the buildings in the narrow streets have remained unchanged for more than a century. We enjoy a half-day walking tour through the narrow winding streets of the Ancient Quarter visiting Chua Ong Pagoda, Chinese Assembly Halls, the 200- year old Tam Ky ancestral house, and the Japanese Bridge. Following the tour there will be free time to shop or relaxing at your hotel. Overnight in Hoi An.

    Day 8: Hoian Cooking Class – Hue (B, L)
    • We start the day with a drink at Scout Café - 98 Nguyen Thai Hoc Street, Hoi An – our meeting point.
    • Visit Hoi An’s colourful market, and experience the amazing sights, sounds and aromas of this busy market. We will have the opportunity to interact with the local sellers and purchase some of the ingredients to be used in the cooking lesson later.
    • We board the Red Bridge boat for a leisurely cruise (25 minutes) along the Hoi An River to  Cooking School. This is a chance to view local river life, so make sure your camera is handy.
    • On arrival, we explore the cooking school’s herb and vegetable garden, before learning about some of Hoi An’s and Vietnam’s well-known dishes. The cooking lesson runs for about 2 hours – each dish is first demonstrated by the Red Bridge chef’s, before we prepare the same dish ourselves. Included in the class is a brief introduction to Vietnamese food carving (plate decoration).
    After the lesson, we sit down and eat exactly what we have cooked.

    Finish the class at approximately 1pm.  In the fternoon, we drive north to Hue - the Vietnam s last imperial capital of Vietnam. Along the way we will visit the  Marble Mountain with a Buddhist cave and a wonderful view of the surrounding, China Beach. Overnight at hotel in Hue.

    Day 9: Hue city tour (B, L)
    Breakfast at hotel, we then set out for the exploration of Hue s famous highlights, including the Citadel and the Forbidden Purple City. Built in the 19th century by the Nguyen dynasty, the City was home to the former Emperors of Vietnam from 1802 until 1945. In the surrounding countryside there is the picturesque Thien Mu, or Heavenly Lady Pagoda. One of the most poignant displays here is a car belonging to a former monk, who in 1963, drove to Saigon and set himself alight to protest against the South Vietnamese regime and its treatment of Buddhists. Disembark the board for a visit the elaborate mausoleum of former emperor Tu Duc. Transfer back to Hue center, do the walking and shopping in Dong Ba Market to enjoy the speciality of Hue city.

    Day 10: Flight Hue – Ho Chi Minh City Tour. (B, L)
    Breakfast at hotel, take the transfer to Phu Bai airport for the flight to Ho Chi Minh City. After lunch time, we will discover the dynamic city with the Reunification Palace which was the former residence of the President of South Vietnam until end of April 1975, and some French colonial structures including the Notre Dame Cathedral, the Old Sai Gon Post Office. After seeing the War Remnant Museum, we continue our trip on to the bustling Ben Thanh Market where anything and everything is for sale. Overnight at hotel in Ho Chi Minh City.

    Day 11: Ho Chi Minh City  – Mekong delta – My Tho – Ben Tre - Ho Chi Minh City (B, L)
    Pick up at your hotel in HCMC at 8.00 AM. A smooth one-and-half-hour drive through rice field scenery along National Highway 1 brings you to the beautiful rural district of Trung Luong. Take a motor boat to enter My Tho city through Bao Dinh natural canal. Then pay a visit to My Tho s colorful street fruit market alongside the canal to soak up the lively atmosphere and watch the locals trade their produce. Take a leisurely cruise on the Tien River. En route, view the fishing port, the traditional stilt houses and boat building workshops, and the other three evocatively-named islands - Dragon, Phoenix and Unicorn islands. Enjoy a sumptuous lunch served right in the heart of the orchard to the accompaniment of Southern Vietnamese folk music performed by the islanders. After visiting the coconut candy mill, take an amazing rowing boat trip along the small canal. Then continue to Ben Tre province, "the country of coconuts", to see a typical agricultural model known as "Garden - Pond - Cage". Enjoy a relaxing cup of honey tea before returning to My Tho via Tan Thach natural canal, cruising under the shadows of water coconut palms. Return to HCMC. Arrive back your hotel at around 4.00 pm. Overnight in Ho Chi Minh City.

    Day 12: Ho Chi Minh City departure (B)
    This is the last day of Vietnam Trip, our guide and driver will come to your hotel in Saigon and transfer you to the airport for your departure flight home. Trip ends at Tan Son Nhat International Airport. Thank you for traveling with Indochina Leisure. Good bye and See you again!
